Wedge anchors are integral to many projects, providing a secure connection between walls, ceilings and other objects. They consist of two pieces – an anchor, usually made of steel, and a metal wedge which expands and locks it in place when tightened to the anchor…
A sleeve anchor is a type of fastener that consists of four parts: an expansion sleeve, nut, washer and bolt head. When inserted into a hole drilled in concrete or masonry walls, the sleeve expands and creates an incredibly strong bond between the wall and the object being secured.
Anchor bolts are designed to attach structural elements to concrete. In our industry, anchor bolts are typically used to attach steel to concrete. One end is embedded into the concrete, while the opposite end is threaded to attach structural support.
Drop in anchors are female concrete anchors designed for anchoring into concrete. Drop the anchor into the pre-drilled hole in the concrete. Using a setting tool expands the anchor within the hole in the concrete.
Sleeve anchors are fairly simple to use and are primarily used in brick or block. They can be used in concrete but are not considered as strong as a wedge anchor. So, for light to medium holding applications, a sleeve anchor is a good choice.
